Uluwatu Temple is steeped in history, with its origins dating back to the arrival of the revered Holyman Mpu Kuturan in Bali in 1039 AD. During this time, Bali was home to various cults, coexisting harmoniously under his influence. Mpu Kuturan played a pivotal role in unifying these cults into the Tri Murti concept. As part of his spiritual journey, he constructed 17 temples, including the iconic Uluwatu Temple.
